Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP)

The Quebec Ministry of Immigration has announced on April 20th 2016 that 300 Chinese applicants who applied under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program will be called for interview in Montreal between May 16th and June 30th 2016, from Mondays to Thursdays except for the week of June 6thwhere lodging may be a challenge for the applicants.

Interviews will be grouped according to the lawyers appointed on file to make it easier for representation of applicants. These will be mandatory invitations. Normal rules of interview cancellations will apply - only “force majeure” can be a purpose of interview cancellation, and in any event a cancellation of a 2ndinterview will be assessed as abandoning the application process.

The government counts on the support of immigration offices to ensure that applicants called for an interview will attend their interview in Montreal.
The Quebec government has recently announced that it will start accepting new applications for the year 2016 under the Immigrant Investor Program for a limited time period. Intake of applications will run from May 30th2016 till February 28th2017 with a maximum intake of 1,900 applications, including a maximum of 1,330 applications from China, Hong Kong, and Macao. French speakers with an advanced-intermediate level are excluded from this cap.

This program targets high net worth individuals with a minimum net worth of CAD 1.6 million, as well as a minimum of two years of management experience, who are willing to make an attractive passive investment (financing option is available) in order to obtain Canadian permanent residency.

The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program offers the following advantages:
