Dominica signs visa waiver agreement with China

An agreement has been signed between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the People’s Republic of China, which will permit visa-free travel between the two nations. This visa-waiver agreement was signed on Monday, November 23, 2021, which came into immediate effect.

The agreement was signed by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Lin Xianjiang.

With the signing of the visa-waiver access to China, citizens of Dominica will be able to access four out of the world’s six biggest economies visa-free.

Dominica is working to expand the list of countries which its citizens and passport holders can enjoy visa-free travel to. Dominica is working towards strengthening its diplomatic ties worldwide, and signing a major visa-waiver agreement with the People’s Republic of China is a step forward.

The Commonwealth of Dominica has come out on top once again in the ranking for best Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program for the year 2021. On August 18th, the Financial Times' Professional Wealth Management magazine released its fifth annual CBI Index, an in-depth report that examines and evaluates CBI program offered by various countries in the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.

Dominica's CBI program is legally entrenched in law, and since local law does not contain any restrictions on holding dual nationality, obtaining second citizenship through investment in the country is a confidential process. In addition to having no physical residency obligation, Dominica's CBI program has no language, age, business experience, or educational requirements, and there is no mandatory interview.

Dominica is known as the ‘Nature Island of the Caribbean’ due to its unspoiled natural beauty. Dominica is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the United Nations (UN), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Organisation of American States (OAS), and the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

Dominican passport holders currently enjoy visa-free travel to 143 destinations.
