5 Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs
A large number of applicants for Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (second citizenship) or second residence programs come from the Middle East . The Middle East has the highest percentage of billionaires in the world .

Where is the cheapest place to buy citizenship?

No surprise that the Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (CIP) have raised millions of dollars in revenue. Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (CIP) offer mobility , security, tax efficiency, and more investment opportunities.

Here are the 5  Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (second passports) as of November 2017. The citizenship by investment industry within the Caribbean has undergone a lot of changes in 2017 . Here’s everything you need to know to obtain the second passport in 2017 .

Best Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Program (Second Passport)

The best Caribbean second passport is 1) the passport you can afford ; 2) that gives you along with your family members visa-free travel and/or Visa on arrival  to the most countries.  But , how to choose a Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Program ?

Visa-Free/Visa-on-Arrival Countries

One major subject of value of any Citizenship By Investment Program (CIP) –passport- is how many countries you can travel to where no visa is needed or one is issued upon arrival (typically for a small fee – 40 JOD in Jordan for example ). In the Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs table , you can see you get a whole lot more visa-free travel countries with St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Antigua and Barbuda than Dominica.

But the idea is not only about the visa-free count. You must consider which countries you get with your new Caribbean passport and whether or not it matters to you .

For example, Grenada is the only Caribbean country with an active Citizenship by Investment program (CIP) which now benefits from visa-free travel to China. Also , the Grenada Citizenship By Investment Program as a route to gaining an E2 visa may be worth considering for some investors . The Grenada Citizenship By Investment Program may be worth considering for nationals of Countries not on the E2 Treaty country List.

Take a look at the Citizenship comparison – St Kitts vs. Antigua vs. Grenada vs. St Lucia vs. Dominica ,for a Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (CIP) and the corresponding countries with visa-free entries they give you.

Minimum Investment

In the cast of Dominica, the EDF investment is a minimum of $100,000 . St. Kitts and Nevis allows you to make a straight payment like Dominica for $150,000.

Similar to St. Kitts & Nevis , in Antigua and Barbuda you can pay a minimum straight fee of $100,000 ,you can become an Antiguan.

Government Fees ( Processing fees and Due diligence fees )

Government fees (Processing fees and Due diligence fees ) are fees you pay for application processing and background check. They are not insignificant though for some Caribbean countries .

Processing time

One question that always comes up by our clients is : How long does it take to get my second passport ( Citizenship )?

Each Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Program (CIP)  claims that it takes as little as three months. The truth is that a lot depends on the government and you. After all, the Citizenship By Investment units within the Caribbean will not process your file until they have all of the required documents.

Age of Child Dependants

The maximum age of qualifying child dependants in St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Dominica is 30 years. While in Antigua and Barbuda is 25 years Dependent children are defined as a child of the main applicant or his or her spouse who is in full-time attendance at a recognized institution of higher learning and is fully supported by the main applicant. In addition, an unmarried daughter of the main applicant who is aged thirty or under, living with and fully supported by the main applicant would also qualify (in St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Dominica).

Physical presence to maintain citizenship

St Kitts & Nevis , Grenada , St. Lucia and Dominica have no residency requirements , while in Antigua and Barbuda the passport is granted for 5 year validity period after that it can be renewed. To renew after 5 years, you must have visited Antigua for about 5 days.

Nationalities Control

According to a decision by the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, at its meeting held on Thursday, 11th December 2014, the Restricted Country List and Current Policy are as follows:
  • Iran
  • Afghanistan
  • Iraq
  • North Korea
  • Somalia
  • Yemen
  • Sudan
As an exception, nationals of the above-mentioned countries who are lawful permanent residents of Canada, the United States of America or the United Kingdom, will be allowed to make application providing that their status as lawful residents is established.

In our opinion, this makes citizenship from Antigua and Barbuda a more private purchase or investment.

In a nutshell owning a second passport through one of the Caribbean Citizenship By Investment Programs (CIP) gives you a new found freedom that you only dreamt about but can now become a reality.
