Robert De Niro Promotes Antigua & Barbuda
Hollywood superstar Robert De Niro continues to promote investments in Antigua and Barbuda in a collaborative mission with the twin-islands’ Prime Minister, Gaston Browne. Robert De Niro is not only a special envoy of Antigua and Barbuda, but he is a passionate investor himself in a real estate project in Barbuda. James Packer, an Australian billionaire, has also invested in this project as well as in De Niro’s Nobu restaurants.

At a conference in Dubai, De Niro stated, "It's a beautiful place, that's why I'm involved in this project." The conference was sponsored by Arton Capital, an industry-leading global financial advisory firm. Together with Prime Minister Browne, the actor convinced investors in the Middle East that this is a worthwhile investment opportunity.

Antigua and Barbuda already has several notable investors from the UAE. Among them is the developer of the US$150 million resort, Callaloo Cay. In order to attract even more investors from the UAE, Antigua and Barbuda has plans to open an embassy and trade centre in Abu Dhabi, and will be the first Caribbean country to take this measure.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment Program has been successfully fueling the nation’s economic growth and continues to do so. Among the Caribbean countries offering similar programs, Antigua and Barbuda’s passport is ranked the most powerful, offering travel freedom to over 130 countries. It is the only Caribbean Citizenship by Investment country that includes Canada in the list of countries it can travel to visa-free. Citizens can also add Europe’s Schengen Zone, the UK, and Singapore to that list, among many others.

The price of that travel freedom is relatively low when compared to similar European options. Citizenship to Antigua and Barbuda can be obtained for as little as a US$200,000 donation to the National Development Fund. A real estate option is also available with a minimum investment requirement of US$400,000.

The UAE isn’t the only Arab nation that Antigua and Barbuda has solidified relations with. Prior to the UAE trip, Prime Minister Browne and his delegation were invited to Qatar where they met with Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. Antigua and Barbuda has big plans for the future. And attracting more investors from the Middle East will help move the country to success.
