Manitoba issues 150 Letters  Apply EOI submissions
The government of Manitoba has issued 150 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) at a rate of 10 per week to EOI submissions under the business category from January 5, 2016 to April 20, 2016, all of which had scores ranging from 82 to 100. Out of these 150 LAAs, 104 LAAs were from new EOI submissions received in the week prior to the LAA being issued.

The majority of the LAAs issued (62%) were for applicants from China. Percentage of LAAs submitted to other countries as follows:

Iran: 14%             India: 4%              Pakistan: 3%       Vietnam: 3%      Korea: 3%            Other: 11%

The Program received 110 Nomination Applications from applicants in the period of January 4 to April 19, 2016.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) under the business category is an economic immigration program where business people are nominated to settle and contribute to Manitoba’s economy. The province welcomes thousands of immigrants each year from over 150 countries, offering them low cost of living in a safe and business-friendly environment.Through this program, business applicants can take advantage of a faster entry to Canada and become permanent residents.

The program has set some eligibility requirements for interested candidates:
  • Have a minimum net worth of CAD $350,000,
  • Have at least three years of business ownership experience or senior management experience in the past five years,
  • Invest at least CAD $150,000 in a new or existing business in Manitoba,
  • Obtain a minimum of 60 points in the Adaptability Business Matrix,
  • Intend to reside in the province of Manitoba.
Candidates must not submit their applications unless they have been invited to apply either through the Expression of Interest (EOI) process or directly by the MPNP-B. Applications received by individuals who have not been invited to apply will be returned unprocessed.
