United Arab Emirates (UAE) Long Residence Program
In 2019, the United Arab Emirates implemented a new system for long-term residence visas. The new system enables foreigners to live, work and study in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 percent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland. These visas will be issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically.
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be over 18 years.
- The amount invested must not be loaned.
- The Applicants who are 18 and above must undergo a medical test to prove that they are medically fit.
- The Applicant must pass a security check and apply for an Emirates ID card from Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
- The Applicant must meet one of the relevant 'Residency Options' listed below to qualify for residency permit.

Investment Options
United Arab Emirates (UAE) 10-year residence visa
If you invest in an investment fund, you may be granted a Golden Visa for a period of 10 years without a sponsor, subject to the:
- Submission of a letter from an investment fund accredited in the UAE stating that the investor has a deposit of USD $544,600 (AED 2,000,000). OR;
- Submission of a valid commercial license or industrial license and a memorandum of association stating that the investor’s capital is not less than USD $544,600 (AED 2,000,000).
- Submission of a letter from Federal Tax Authority stating that the investor pays the government no less than USD $68,075 (AED 250,000) annually.
Additionally, you must:
- Own the invested capital completely; it must not be a loan. AND;
- Provide proof of medical insurance for her/him and all family (if any).

The following category is entitled to apply a Golden visa for a period of 5 years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Real estate investors
Investing in a property or a group of properties in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) subject to the:
- Provision of a letter from the land department of the respective emirate stating that she / he owns one or more properties whose value is not less than USD $544,600 (AED 2,000,000).
- Purchase of a property with a loan from specific local banks approved by the competent local entity.

The government fees of five-year visas is USD $180 (AED 650). This includes USD $41 (AED 150) for application and USD $137 (AED 500) for issuance.
