Royal Caribbean Tour Starts in Antigua and Barbuda
Prince Harry will be representing his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in a trip to the Caribbean this coming November. He will be visiting seven Caribbean countries including Antigua and Barbuda,  St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Barbados, and Guyana.

Prince Harry’s tour will begin on Sunday, November 20th, and end on Sunday, December 4th. The first stop will be Antigua and Barbuda as the nation is celebrating its 35th anniversary of independence in 2016. The Queen is also celebrating a special event, her 90th birthday this year, and Prince Harry is honoured to represent her on this trip.

The last time he visited the Caribbean was in 2012 during The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee of her reign. When he was eight years old, he took a vacation in the Caribbean with his late mother, Princess Diana.

A press spokesman for the Prince said in a statement that “Prince Harry holds special memories of his last visit to the Caribbean, and of the warmth, friendliness and sense of fun that comes so naturally to this region.” He also stated that Prince Harry is “grateful to have the chance to visit nations that play such important roles in the Commonwealth, and have extended such warmth to his family for many years.”

Antigua and Barbuda is a Commonwealth Realm, meaning it is a country which has the Queen as its monarch. The islands became an independent state on the first of November 1981, with Elizabeth II as their first Queen. This year marks an important anniversary for the nation and having His Royal Highness visit to commemorate its independence is a great tribute.

The twin-island state of Antigua and Barbuda has come a long way since independence. Tourism continues to dominate the economy and is the most important source of foreign exchange and foreign direct investment. The tourism industry accounts for two thirds of GDP, 40 percent of investment, and more than half of employment opportunities. Investment banking and financial services also make up an important part of the economy.

It is easy to see why tourism is a key industry to economic growth, as well as why investors would choose the islands as a sound investment opportunity. Not only do the islands boast beautiful beaches and warm days year-round, but the people of the region, as Prince Harry stated, are warm, friendly, and fun. The culture of Antigua and Barbuda emerged from the mixing of Amerindian, West African, and European cultural traditions. Any visitor will find Antigua and Barbuda a unique experience.

Antigua and Barbuda offer direct citizenship to foreign nationals who invest a specific amount into the country’s economy. The passport obtained from the nation’s Citizenship by Investment Program grants visa-free travel to over 130 countries, including Canada and the UK. One of the greatest advantages of this program is that there is no requirement to relocate to Antigua and Barbuda during the application process or after citizenship is received. A second passport granting the travel freedom is obtained without immigration if it is not part of your future plans. Antigua and Barbuda can remain a travel destination where the family can visit on holidays, or you can decide to relocate there altogether. The key is that the program offers a choice, and this freedom is one reason, among others, that Antigua and Barbuda is so appealing to investors around the world.
